Terms of Service

Last updated: April 29, 2026

Acceptance

By accessing or using Lumiere Graphics ("Lumiere", "the software", "the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Lumiere is operated by Pantopie, in France.

The service

Lumiere is a browser-based motion design tool offered in two tiers:

  • Community — free to use, subject to the Community License
  • Pro — one-time purchase, subject to the Pro License

License terms are in the LICENSE.md files distributed with the software and take precedence over these Terms in case of conflict.

Lumiere does not require an account. Your work is stored locally in your browser — we have no access to it. You are responsible for backing up your own files.

Your content

You retain all intellectual property rights in the compositions and assets you create with Lumiere. Using the service does not grant Pantopie any license to your creative work.

Acceptable use

You may not use Lumiere to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringe third-party intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent license restrictions
  • Distribute malware, harmful code, or automated attack tools

Violations may result in immediate suspension of your access.

Pro license purchase

Pro is sold as a one-time purchase via Polar.sh. Payment is processed by Polar at checkout. Once purchased, Pro access is tied to your license key — there is no recurring charge.

Right of withdrawal (droit de rétractation): Under French and EU consumer law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase, without giving any reason. To exercise it, contact support@lumiere.graphics before the period expires. If you have expressly requested that the service begin before the end of the withdrawal period and the service has been fully performed, you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost.

Software availability and changes

Lumiere is provided "as is". We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes where possible.

Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Lumiere is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied
  • Pantopie is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service
  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the license

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be waived under French law, including the legal guarantee of conformity for paid digital services.

Dispute resolution

Contact us first at support@lumiere.graphics — most issues can be resolved quickly.

Consumer mediation: Under French law, individual consumers may refer unresolved disputes to a certified mediator free of charge. Contact us for the applicable mediator's details.

Jurisdiction: These terms are governed by French law. For disputes with individual consumers, jurisdiction is determined by French procedural law (the consumer may sue in their local court). For disputes between professionals, the courts of Paris have exclusive jurisdiction.
